What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation. Together with Baptism and the Eucharist, it brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace. In Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ.
"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind... All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit." - Acts 2:1-4

Requirements for Confirmation
- Must be baptized in the Catholic Church
- Should be at least 16 years old (younger candidates may be considered)
- Must complete the parish Confirmation preparation program
- Regular attendance at Sunday Mass
- Active participation in parish life
- Choose a sponsor who is a confirmed, practicing Catholic
- Letter of good standing from sponsor's parish
- Submit baptismal certificate
- Participate in a retreat before receiving the sacrament
Choosing a Confirmation Name
Candidates typically choose a saint's name as their Confirmation name. This saint becomes a special patron and role model for the confirmed person's spiritual journey. Consider choosing a saint whose life and virtues inspire you in your faith.
Confirmation Preparation
Our Confirmation preparation program runs throughout the year and includes catechesis, prayer, service, and community building. Classes typically begin in the fall for candidates who will be confirmed the following year.
